Frequently Asked Questions

A paddle sport combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping‑pong, played on a small court with a perforated plastic ball.

You can play at Tyler Indoor Pickleball, the first standalone indoor pickleball center in East Texas, located at 5908 Rhones Quarter Rd, Tyler, TX 75707

Tyler Indoor Pickleball is the only dedicated indoor pickleball facility in Tyler, TX. Enjoy climate-controlled courts,
leagues, lessons, and daily open play.

A pickleball court is 20 ft wide by 44 ft long, with a 7 ft non‑volley zone (“kitchen”) on each side of the net.

You need a paddle (wood or composite), a pickleball (indoor or outdoor), and non‑marking court shoes.

Serves must be underhand, contact the ball below waist level, land diagonally in the opponent’s service court, and clear the non‑volley zone.

Two‑bounces: each side must let the serve and return bounce once before volleys.

Volleys only allowed outside the kitchen.

Games are typically played to 11 points (win by 2).

After the serve, the receiving team’s return and the serving team’s next shot must each bounce once before players can volley.

The 7 ft area on each side of the net where volleying is prohibited—you must let the ball bounce before entering to play it.

Only the serving side can score. Games go to 11 (sometimes 15 or 21), and you must win by 2 points.

Hitting the ball out of bounds.

Volleying from inside or touching the kitchen.

Failing to clear the net.

Double‑bouncing or incorrect serve.
